An Unbiased View of Experimental Short Film

Colin Levy's The Secret Number is another excellent example of an independent fantasy short movie. This film is about a man who discovers an equation that can predict the future. It is only 15 minutes in length, but the story manages to be thought-provoking and explores both fates and free will. To keep viewers interested, the film employs clever visual effects and a strong central performer.

Independent short films of fantasy are able to experiment with many styles and techniques. These films are often made without a lot of money, so filmmakers must be creative with the resources they have. This can lead filmmakers to create truly innovative films.

Joshua Weigel's film The Butterfly Circus is a good example. The story follows a man who has no arms or legs and joins a circus that freaks. He learns to accept his differences. Although the film lasts only 20 minutes, it has stunning visuals that are complemented by a strong central performance. It tells a compelling story about self-acceptance as well perseverance.
